Oct. 6th, 2020 09:04 pmSam planned everything. Asking Dean had only been the first step before he would propose to Ruby; the other steps he took included talking to John and Mary how they would feel if he proposed to her (a demon) as well as ring shopping. He also entrusted Dean to hide the ring while he formulated a plan. The plan came into fruition when asked Ruby if she would like to get away for the weekend on a romantic hike as far as they can go into the woods where they would spent most their time camping. Everyone else got the heads up they'd be gone. He and Ruby started out in the morning with their gear but sometime around noon, between the glances and the less than subtle touches and conversation points, he slowed to a stop when they came to the large clearing his brother described. The sun glimmered off the water; the stream itself gave life to the wild flowers and grasses that swayed in the wind before their very sight.
"What do you think? This is a good of a spot as any to set up camp." They should actually be able to enjoy some daylight and time together, right. Not expecting any complaints either, Sam slides his gear off his back to shrug it off on the ground.

Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-16 12:15 am (UTC)Sam definitely had no filter when it came to food or how beautiful Ruby was. Castiel had been happy to oblige her with kisses that were returned. As far as brilliant ideas go, it was pretty brilliant. The time for Cas to tell Dean will come when things settle down.
She can tell him when she is ready, or never at all. At some point someone is going to have to stay something before it runs on too long though. Maybe it could be Cas. He doesn't see him going back but more forward in life and that includes this growing relationship with Lucy.
"The memories of your kidnapping." He wouldn't never erase her life, but neither will he skirt around his thought process.
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-16 02:32 am (UTC)One of these days she'll tell him. The good news is that once she spills, she won't stop telling him she loves him. She'll say it often. It remains to be seen if she'll say those words first or if Cas will. If it happens to him, he won't have to fear any sort of awkwardness or rejection. Lucy has begun to consider her future and that it might (hopefully) include Castiel. It's a big step for her.
Her expression settles into one of contemplation as she turns the idea over in her head. "Will it--will it be like a blackout where I can't remember a few days or just like it never happened and I had a particularly boring few days?"
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-27 02:18 am (UTC)Sam had a few naughty things to tell her when he thought nobody else was listening either. Let's just say considering how high he was at the time, that wasn't always when they were actually alone. Cas had found the kisses had seemed to help Lucy through the ordeal too.
Often is more than he can picture at the moment. There's a between where they are now and "I love you." All that is to suggest is that he suspects there will be a one day with Lucy, but it won't be before she is ready. Her cues are just as important as anything and Cas tries his best to understand them.
He understands her hesitation and gives her time to think it over. It is completely her choice. "It will be whatever you want it to be. If you want to remember it as a few boring days, that's what I can do. If you want it to be exciting, I can do this too."
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-28 01:30 am (UTC)It's more than she can fathom at the moment as well. They're definitely in that between, but it's good that they're both looking toward a one day with each other. Lucy is so afraid of being the only one all in; it's clear enough for Lucy to suspect that Cas is all in as well, though she can't fathom why. She's getting there and she's trying not to give him mixed cues. He does a good job of understanding them.
Her brow furrows as she considers that. She's not surprised that he can change her memories. She shakes her head at his offer. "No. If it's going to be exciting, I want it to be real. Just a few quiet, boring days. The kind I can have any day of the week. We'll do the exciting days for real."
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-29 04:53 am (UTC)It is one of the few things he believes he can still do with his fractured wings. For a brief moment, he can only assume she has rejected his offer until her words clarify what her head shake meant. "Yes. I understand. You want the last couple of days to be believable... What do you picture that looks like?" Sorry, he still isn't the most creative angel. However, the talk about doing exciting things for real-- that takes no amount of imagination. "You mean have sex?"
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-11-29 11:33 pm (UTC)Oh, Cas. Lucy really wishes he wouldn't shoulder those sorts of burdens alone; he needs to talk to someone about what's going on with him. He also needs to know when he's hit his limits. She's not sure she would ask him to alter her memories if she knew his power was waning. She doesn't ever want to be the reason he gives up something he might later miss. She smiles wanly, glad that he understands. She considers his question. "I'd drink a cup of coffee in bed then get up and get ready to go to Houndstooth. I'll spend most of the day there then maybe meet up with you in the evening and...start over again the next day. Boring. Believable." She laughs softly and genuinely at his question. "That's one of them but also...I don't want to miss anything different or unique or..." her brow furrows, "first time-y. A special date with you or...someone I care about's birthday or a new restaurant coming into town. A fantastic new pair of heels. All the little things that make break up those days where everything is the same and normal, I guess." She tilts her head up to catch his eyes. "Does that make sense?"
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-12-25 12:50 am (UTC)All the more reason not to tell anyone just yet because he loves them all deeply enough to do what he can to prevent them from suffering. Cas wouldn't be Cas if there was a limit to what he would do. Her smile gives away how she needs rest so Cas won't take much more of her time. He nods at each point, understanding her clearly. "In your own bed." He smiles with encouragement. If she's ready now, his hand extends out for her to take and lend him her permission. A little while ago Lucy taught him he could be more romantic. He smiles more broadly in hearing her laughter. "Everyone has had their birthday this year. I have very good news to share with you then and you have not missed out on anything of the sort."
Re: Aftermath
Date: 2020-12-29 02:58 am (UTC)Fair enough. Lucy (and everyone else in the bunker) will worry about him and would tell him that they'd handle in an effort to keep him from hurting himself. That being said the bliss of not having the burden of these memories is something Lucy will appreciate and relish. She's likely to stay a little closer and be a little clingy without those memories because this has made her realize she's neither invulnerable to the horrors that Itinere can hide not does she have any desire to be alone. This has made her realize she does love Cats and that he cares a great deal about her beyond a booty call.
She gives him her hand and leans in to press a kiss to his lips. "in case I forget to tell you later or I lode my nerve, I think I love you."
